Creepy Eyes (with Tutorial!)

I saw some spectacular "Simply Spooky Eyes" by Chalkboard Nails here and had to try it!  Then I decided to make a tutorial to go with it.  AND I LOVE THESE!!

Here's the finished nail art:
(The matte top coat bubbled slightly...sorry!)
Want to try them for yourself?
Here's what you'll need:
(l to r)
  • base coat - I used Sally Hansen Double Duty
  • black plish - I used Wet n Wild Fast Dry Ebony Hates Shris
  • top coat - I used Sally Hansen Insta-Dri
  • matte top coat - I used Hard Candy Matte-ly in Love
  • white polish - I used Cover Girl White Night
  • neon yellow polish - I used Nina Ultra Pro Solar Flare
  • foil
  • smallest dotting tool or toothpick

  1. Start by placing some white polish on the foil and picking it up with the dotting tool or toothpick.  Make two little dots that will be center-most portion of each eye.
  2. Add two more outer dots for each eye with white polish.
  3. Connect each inner and outer dots with white polish.
  4. Connect each middle dot to each outer dot.
  5. Fill in to make eye shape, leaving black portion.
  6. Cover white polish with neon yellow using dotting tool or toothpick
See?  That was easy!
I'm LOVIN' this Halloween-y mani!

Then, a day or so later, I got some glow-in-the-dark polish from Claire's and added that on top!  The glowing eyes looked SO COOL!!!
More pictures?  ok!

My camera didn't take any good photos of the glow....here's the best I got....

  2. Looks great! It's interesting to see how you did these - when I made mine I just made the colored shapes solid at first and then painted the black 'pupils' on top of the solid color!
